Chelsea sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester
Chelsea has signed Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for a reported fee of £30 million ($38 million, 35 million euros), the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old has agreed to a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, reuniting with new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, with whom he worked last season.
Dewsbury-Hall’s departure is a significant financial boost for Leicester City. The transfer fee is recorded as pure profit since he came through the club’s youth ranks. This influx of funds will aid Leicester in adhering to the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.
During his time at Leicester, Dewsbury-Hall made 120 appearances and scored 17 goals, including 12 goals last season, contributing to the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
