EFCC operative commits suicide in Abuja
An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) tragically took his own life at his residence in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The incident occurred on Monday, involving a member of Course 5, who was known for his diligence, efficiency, and unassuming nature.
PRNigeria reports that the EFCC is investigating potential factors such as mental health issues and family challenges that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and subsequent suicide.
When contacted, EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide. The Commission has not released the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation.
The tragic event has deeply affected the EFCC, and more details will be provided as they become available.
