Ademola Lookman makes final shortlist for CAF player of the year award

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the top five nominees for the prestigious 2024 Africa Player of the Year Award.

Leading the list is Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, who has been recognized for his exceptional performances.

Lookman is joined by Cote d’Ivoire’s Simon Adingra, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi—who was the runner-up in last year’s edition—and South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams. However, there was disappointment for Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, as he failed to make the final shortlist.

In addition to the Player of the Year category, CAF has also announced nominees for several other awards, including Goalkeeper of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Club of the Year, and National Team of the Year.
