(BREAKING)AFCON qualifier: Super Eagles suffer shock defeat to Rwanda
The Super Eagles of Nigeria concluded their African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with a 2-1 loss to the Wasps of Rwanda.
Samuel Chukwueze opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 59th minute, showcasing his skill on the wing.
However, Rwanda staged a dramatic comeback, netting twice in quick succession in the 72nd and 75th minutes to secure a home victory.
Despite the defeat, Nigeria finished atop their AFCON qualifying group with a record of three wins, two draws, and one loss.
The Super Eagles will now shift focus to preparations for the main tournament, set to take place in Côte d’Ivoire in 2024.
